From July 1, 2024, the minimum wage is PLN 4,300 gross, or PLN 3,261.53 net. This is an increase of PLN 700 compared to the amount from July 1, 2023 (PLN 3,600 gross). For comparison, the average monthly salary in the corporate sector in the second quarter of 2024 was PLN 8,167.77 gross. 37.7% of Poles can boast such a salary.

Then there are the sudden expenses, like a car breakdown or a broken washing machine. Let’s assume that the parents receive the minimum wage, which means that their total monthly net income is PLN 6,523.06 (2 x PLN 3,261.53). If they spend 2,000 on food, 3,500 on housing costs, and 500 PLN on fuel, they won’t have much left for other things or planning a vacation. Of course, 800 plus is helpful in this situation, thanks to which the family gains an additional 1,600 PLN.
