Keanu Reeves Recalls On-Set Accident: ‘My Knee Crumbled Like a Potato Chip’

Keanu Reeves in an interview with Stephen Colbert recalled an unpleasant situation that happened to him on the set of his latest film. During the filming of “Good Fortune” he suffered a serious knee injury.

Three months later, Keanu Reeves himself spoke out, telling Stephen Colbert what exactly happened behind the scenes of “Good Fortune.”

We were shooting a scene with Aziz Ansari and Steve Rogen where we were immersed in cold water. It was great, I was standing there, we finished shooting, but you know that moment when you’re cold and shivering? I wrapped myself in a towel and a robe and tried to warm up. I caught my foot on a mat on the floor and tripped, but my knee didn’t quite follow. I started falling, like in slow motion. I put my hands out, but my knee failed. Regardless of the injury, Keanu Reeves managed to finish virtually all of the film’s footage. Overtime was needed only for the shots where the actor was supposed to be salsa dancing, Ansari said. “He said he could do it, but we told him to calm down. ‘We’ll do the salsa when you get your knee back,'” the director said in April.
