The battle in Grzegorz Ciechowski’s family is gaining momentum. The widow has issued a statement

The conflict between Skrobiszewska and Ciechowska continues and there is no indication that it will end soon. The widow of Grzegorz Ciechowski responded to the allegations of her stepdaughter in a statement posted on social media.

Although nearly 23 years have passed since Grzegorz Ciechowski’s death, the conflict in the family of the deceased musician is constantly intensifying. It is all due to the will that the composer made before his death. According to his will, all of his assets and copyrights to his works were given to his third wife Anna, who had previously worked for him as a nanny. She took care of the artist’s first daughter and Małgorzata Potocka’s, Weronika. It was she who decided to sue his stepmother after many years, who in exchange for waiving her claims was to offer her the amount of PLN 50,000 divided into two installments. The composer’s eldest daughter agreed to this proposal, not realizing that the relations between her and Anna would ever deteriorate.

However, years later she discovered the amounts that were paid into her stepmother’s account from royalties alone. Weronika Ciechowska’s lawyer, Prof. Marcin Asłanowicz, told “Fakt” that during the last hearing Skrobiszewska admitted that over the last 20 years she had been paid around PLN 8 million in copyrights after her deceased husband. Interestingly, this is not the only lawsuit that has been filed against the wife of the deceased musician. A lawsuit was also filed in court by members of the band Republika after Skrobiszewska had reserved the band’s name.

Ciechowski’s widow issued a statement

In connection with the publicity surrounding the case, Ciechowski’s wife issued a statement that was published on Facebook and sent to the editorial office of “Fakt”. “The trial, which should take place in a courtroom, is taking place in a public forum, because Weronika’s attorney aims to turn the court and public opinion against me. The statements he quoted that I do not work and have never worked were not made in court,” we read in the statement.

Anna Skrobiszewska also swears that she bought the properties on credit, and not with money from royalties after the deceased artist. “I will mention that I have also been running a business since 2008. I bought houses on credit (and not with money from my deceased husband Grzegorz Ciechowski), which I transformed from scratch into guesthouses. I personally clean toilets in them and prepare rooms for our guests. My business enjoys a good reputation, and Mr. Proxy may visit me one day and see me doing nothing here. I am not ashamed of my work,” she added.
