Ewa Sałacka was one of the most colorful figures in the industry in the 80s and 90s. She captivated with her beauty and talent. She gained recognition thanks to her roles in “Oh, Karol”, “The Art of Loving”, “The Curse of the Snake Valley” and “First Love”. Despite her professional career, her private life was not a bed of roses.

The actress has been married twice. She met her first husband, Krzysztof Krauze, who was much talked about in the media, while she was still studying at the Łódź Film School. She studied acting, while he studied cinematography. They were 4 years apart. The couple got married in 1979. Two years later, they went to Vienna to visit Krauze’s mother. They planned to spend a few months there, but when martial law broke out in 1981, their stay was extended to two years.

Then they decided to move to Paris to try their hand at acting. However, their plans did not come true. – I went, but I only played a cameo in one film. That was the end of my world career. – commented Sałacka years later in “Echo Dnia”. So the actress took up modeling.

The young director also did not achieve success. Krzysztof Krauze was supposed to work as Andrzej Wajda’s assistant on the film “Danton”, but this did not happen. So he did not want to wait idly and started to earn extra money as a cloakroom attendant and house painter. Over time, the failures in their professional lives began to affect their private lives. The couple returned to Poland after the end of martial law, but not together, but separately. They soon divorced. The reason was said to be the daily, growing conflicts. – We didn’t even agree on the books on the shelves.
