TVP announces a new hit. We know when the successor to “Korona królów” will hit the airwaves

A new series will soon replace “Korona królów” on TVP. We already know the outline of the plot, the cast of the production and we know when to expect the first episode.

“Crown of Kings” was a TVP hit series. The historical soap opera broadcast on Polish Television until 2023 told the story of the monarchy in Poland under the rule of the Piast dynasty, the Anjou dynasty and the first Jagiellon dynasty.

TVP announces another hit. When is the premiere of the series “Kings”?

The first season of the series was watched by an average of two million viewers. Although the production was very popular, there was no shortage of unfavorable reviews of the series on the web. There were voices that the production contained substantive errors, and the low budget was visible on the screen.

Now TVP will present another series that will continue the story begun in “Korona królów”. The new production is titled “Kings” and will concern the story of two sons of Władysław II Jagiełło – Władysław Warneńczyk and Kazimierz Jagiellończyk. As reported in one of the latest editions of “Teleexpres”, the first episode of the series will be broadcast in autumn 2024.

What will the series “Kings” be about? Who will star in the new TVP production?

The action of the production will begin in 1440, when 16-year-old Władysław was crowned King of Poland after the death of his father. The ruler travels to Hungary to take the throne. At the same time, Casimir goes to Lithuania to take over power from Prince Zygmunt Kiejstutowicz. Another heroine of the series is Queen Zofia, who gathers around herself the opposition to the Bishop of Kraków, Zbigniew Oleśnicki in Sanok. The head of the group of scriptwriters for “Kings” is Anna Kraususka, and the series was directed by Krzysztof Łukaszewicz, Tomasz Matuszczak, Piotr Fiedziukiewicz and Piotr Bieliński.

“Kings” will consist of 80 episodes and will star, among others, Michał Kaszyński, Krzysztof Świłpa, Maria Pawłowska, Przemysław Stipp, Adam Zdrójkowski, Robert Gulaczyk, Anna Oberc, Wojciech Błach and Bartłomiej Nowosielski.
