My mom told me how to wash beach towels properly. They are soft, fresh and last for months.

Sunny days and high temperatures encourage spending holidays by the water. It is no wonder that our attribute during this time is bath towels. Do you know how to wash beach towels so that they do not get damaged? Thanks to a few tips, you will not have to constantly buy new ones.

Many of us buy new beach towels for each holiday season. This can usually be explained by the fact that the previous ones are not in the best condition and are not suitable for going out “in public”. However, excessive wear can be prevented by using appropriate washing methods. Don’t know how to do it? Below you will find some tips.

How to wash beach towels? Do it this way and they will last for many seasons

Beach towels are exposed to various stains that do not always come off the material easily. So when we notice difficult stains, e.g. from grass, we throw the towels into the washing machine and set the program to the highest temperature. This is a big mistake, because in this way we weaken the fabric and its excessive use. How should you properly wash beach towels?

  • Before you throw your towels into the washing machine, wash them thoroughly. shake them outside. This will prevent leaves or twigs from getting into the machine.
  • Fill the drum halfway and set the program for washing cotton with an additional rinse option. The temperature should be within the range 40-60 degrees. If it is higher, it will affect the quality and durability of the material. If it is lower, it will not provide proper hygiene and will not kill bacteria.
  • Pour into the detergent drawer mild powder or home remedy. Remember to use a little less, though. If you use a scoop of powder for washing clothes, use 3/4 of its capacity for towels.
  • If possible, dry them outdoors. However, avoid sunlight, as it “draws” the color from fabrics.

TIP! Towels should be washed separately. If they end up in the drum with clothes that have buckles, zippers or protruding buttons, their material may be damaged.

What to Pour into the Washing Machine Instead of Washing Liquid? You Can Give Up Detergents

Store-bought towels can reduce their absorbency, so it’s worth replacing them with home remedies. To wash your towels in an ecological and safe way, pour a glass of baking soda directly into the washing machine drum and a glass of white vinegar into the fabric softener drawer. Set the appropriate washing program and hang them outside after the cycle is finished. Don’t worry about the vinegar smell coming from the washing machine. It will quickly evaporate in contact with air, and the laundry will remain fresh and soft. If you’d like, please vote in our poll below.
