Why does all the waste end up in one garbage truck? You’ll be surprised. This is no ordinary car.

Are you wondering why you should separate your waste when it all ends up in one garbage truck when you collect it? Your efforts are not wasted. Check how the individual waste types are separated during collection.

You carefully separate plastic from glass and make sure they end up in the right containers, and when the garbage truck pulls up, everything ends up together? Nothing could be further from the truth. A garbage truck is not an ordinary car at all.

Does segregated waste end up in one garbage truck? Here’s the truth

There are five colours of waste containers in Poland. Yellow for metal and plastic, blue for paper, brown for bio-waste, green for glass segregation and black for mixed waste. When a garbage truck pulls up to the containers, you can often see that the waste from the individual containers ends up in one of the garbage trucks.

It turns out that modern garbage trucks are equipped with special compartments, so the segregated waste is not mixed with other waste. These are vehicles that usually have four chambers and can collect all types of waste. Some garbage trucks are equipped with only two compartments, and then the collection of individual waste is divided into different days.

Why is it worth separating waste? This is how you take care of the planet and the environment

As we read on the Samorzad.gov.pl website, it is of great importance in terms of environmental protection. Recycling allows you to give waste a second life, thanks to which the consumption of natural resources is reduced. It is worth taking care of this issue in your homes and taking care of our planet. Remember to only throw waste that is intended for it into containers. Placing, for example, plastic in a glass container will make the segregation process more difficult.
