Not only will we not see him in the presidential race, but we will also not see him in one of the most popular and best comedy series of recent years. The title “Park and Recreation”, in which the president appeared, disappeared from the European market of the Max platform a few days ago.
“Parks and Recreation” Has Disappeared from HBO Max
“Parks and Recreation” has been in the top of the most watched and highest rated comedy series in the world for years. The production with Amy Poehler, Nick Offerman, Chris Pratt, Adam Scott and Aubrey Plaza enjoys unflagging popularity. Unfortunately, on July 15, the license agreement between HBO and the main distributor NBC and the Peacock platform, unavailable in our country, ended – the series disappeared from the platform and it is currently not possible to watch it legally anywhere in Poland.
The episodes featuring the current president of the United States also disappeared. Joe Biden was one of the show’s characters. The main character, Leslie Knope, mentioned him many times. When she finally made it from Pawnee to Washington, she had the opportunity to meet Biden in person. Biden played himself in the show in 2012 – then the vice president of the United States. Two seasons later, in the final “future” episodes, Leslie is a guest at a party hosted by Biden and his wife.
Joe Biden was supposed to be a fan of the series privately (no wonder, since the main character had an undisguised affection for him). He was not the only American politician to end up on “Parks and Rec”. In other episodes, we could see Michelle Obama, John McCain, Madeleine Albright and Newt Gingrich.
“Parks and Recreation” hit the HBO Max platform in 2022. It is not known whether any streaming platform available in Poland will buy the rights to broadcast the series in the near future. European fans can temporarily only surrender to despair, because Max did not inform about the planned change earlier. There is no shortage of voices of sadness and disappointment on international Internet forums.
