It has been in the hands of a different government than before for over half a year. However, numerous court cases are still ongoing, which some of the heroes of the materials in “Wiadomości” or TVP Info have filed against TVP. As more and more court rulings are passed, Telewizja Polska is usually forced to apologize to the injured parties.
On Thursday, just before the “19:30” program on the first channel of Polish Television, a new apology banner appeared. This time, it was about material from February 2019.
TVP apologizes for the material regarding the protests
Before “7:30 PM”, TVP viewers saw on their TV screens a board with an apology for the harm done to a group of protesters in front of its headquarters in 2019.

This concerns the protests at one of the Polish Television headquarters in early 2019. At that time, a group of activists blocked the exit of a car, among others. In “Wiadomości” and TVP Info, they received extensive materials about themselves, it was said that they spat on the car and struggled with the police, although the protest was peaceful. The personal data of the protesters and their images were given in “Wiadomości”, the murder of Marek Rosiak in 2019 and terrorist attacks were mentioned. As a result, some of the protesters began to receive death, beating or rape threats, some, as we read in Wiadomosci.Gazeta.pl, lost their jobs.
The protesters expressed their opposition to the TVP materials that were broadcast on the station regarding the murdered mayor of Gdańsk, Paweł Adamowicz. Less than a month before the protests, a murder took place during the Grand Finale of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. Despite appeals not to use the tragic situation politically, TVP published numerous materials attacking the opposition and blaming it for at least moral guilt for the politician’s death.
