Poles do their shopping in Biedronka like this, and then they are surprised. One thing and the system will react immediately

Self-service checkouts in Biedronka and other stores have made shopping easier for many customers. They are convenient, and the lines to them are usually shorter than to traditional checkouts, so everything takes less time. Provided that we do not have control. And it is easy to do this if we forget about one thing.

We enter a store, make a purchase, go to the self-service checkout, scan products, pay and leave. The matter seems simple and above all quick. It is worse when we encounter some problems along the way. And such problems may include an employee’s check. These can happen very often, and this is due to a certain issue that not every customer is aware of.

Self-checkouts are supposed to speed up shopping. But there may be delays

Self-service checkouts make shopping easier, and also theft or minor fraud. After all, the cashier does not look through the things we buy and does not check whether we have correctly filled in, for example, the type of apples or bread. Sometimes there are circumstances in which the cash register sends a notification to the store employee to confirm the age of the customer when buying alcohol or when a product is incorrectly filled.

New checkout function at Biedronka. One mistake and control is guaranteed

Self-service checkouts in Biedronka have gained new functionality and can call the cashier in yet another situation. Not every customer is aware that they are equipped with cameras that “see” what we buy. So if the camera does not recognize the scanned product or it is something other than what the barcode indicates, it will call the service employee.

Even if our intentions are good and unrelated to theft, we can harm ourselves a bit and slow down the entire shopping process. This is because many customers pack loose products into opaque bags. The camera does not recognize what we want to buy, so it can call a Biedronka employee to check whether our purchases match what was entered at the checkout. A better solution is to use so-called zrywek, which are small plastic bags available at fruit and bread stands, among others. They are transparent, so it is easy to recognize what is inside.

Tip: To be more eco-friendly, don’t throw bags in the trash after unpacking your shopping. It’s better to find a way to reuse them. They can be used as bags for small trash cans, for example. If you’d like, please vote in our poll below.
