Washing after coming from the store seems to be the norm, but trousers, blouses or shirts are not so obvious. Before we put on a new wardrobe, it is better to throw it in the washing machine, because we may regret it later. A store employee talked about why clothes from the store are not clean at all.
Should You Wash Store-bought Clothes? “They’re Not as Clean as You Think”
Most of us wash clothes bought on Vinted or in second-hand shops, but those bought in stores don’t always end up in the washing machine. This is a big mistake, because as it turns out, wearing them is not hygienic. Before the clothes arrive at the clothing store, they travel many kilometers, and are also tried on by many people whose hygiene we are not sure about. Often, clothes from returns appear in the store, i.e. those that someone has already bought and tried on.
Tiktoker OctagonGlasses worked in a clothing store, and in one of her videos she talked about why it’s better not to wear clothes straight from the store. – Wash your clothes after you buy them. They’re not as clean as you think. (…) You work all day, you sweat, and then at the end of your shift you take them off, put a tag on them and put them back in the store – she confessed.
Why do you have to wash new clothes? “I sorted clothes on the dirty floor because I didn’t have a table”
In the comments section, Internet users share their experiences. It turns out that the story of the TikToker is not an isolated one. If you’d like, please vote in our poll below.
When I worked in a clothing store, I would sort clothes on the dirty floor because I didn’t have a table. And then someone would buy them.
I used to work at a popular big box store where people would literally stomp on clothes instead of picking them up off the floor. So it’s better to wash them when you get home.
I also work in a clothing store and we do exactly the same thing.
