He San Sebastian Film Festival has announced today, Friday, at the headquarters of the Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences in Madrid, the productions of the Spanish State that will participate in the 72nd edition of the contestwhich will be held from September 20 to 28.
In the Official Sectionin which they compete for the Golden Shell, the Madrid filmmaker Iciar Bollaín will present the film I am Nevenkastarring the Bilbao actor Urko Olazabal, and the Zaragoza filmmaker Pilar Palomero will present The flashesbased on the story Bihotz handiegia, by the writer from Errenteria Eider Rodríguez. Patricia López Arnáiz from Vitoria is also the protagonist of this film.
In that same Official Section, but out of competition, Alauda Ruiz de Azua (Five little wolves) will present the series Wanta work that tells the story of a woman who, after 30 years of marriage, has broken up with her husband and has accused him of continued rape, with Nagore Aranburu as the protagonist. Javier Giner and Aitor Gabilondofor their part, will show the series I’m addictedalso outside the big awards, and the filmmaker Paula Ortiz the film The red virginstarring Najwa Nimri.
Outside the Official Section, David Perez Sañudo will present the film The úlromance scamsbased on the novel of the same name by Txani Rodiguez, in the New Directors section, just as he did with his first film, AneMiren Gaztañaga is the lead actress in the film, which features EITB, in the role of a woman who will have no choice but to rethink her entire life when a lump is detected in her breast.
For her part, the Azkoitia filmmaker Izibene Oñederra will compete in Zabaltegi-Tabakalera with the animated short film Etorriko da (And here you are, you are saying).
Also, the series Sky bluecreated by Diego San José from Guipuzcoa and directed by Elena Trape, will be screened in its entirety at the Velodrome, with a total of six chapters: the actress Carmen Machi is an inspector at the Tax Agency and, about to retire, will be tasked with proving that a Latin American music star has defrauded the Public Treasury.
