1. “Wodzirej” – The beginning of Jerzy Stuhr’s career was closely linked to films classified as cinema of moral anxiety. One of the most important in his oeuvre is undoubtedly “Wodzirej” by Feliks Falk, which debuted on the big screens in 1977. In it, he played the main character Lutek Danielak, who wants to host a prestigious ball at all costs. Will he fulfill his dream?
2. “Amator” – Also worthy of special attention is the psychological film “Amator” directed by Krzysztof Kieślowski, belonging to the same genre. In it, he created the character of Filip Mosz, for whom the purchase of a camera turns out to be a turning point in his life.
3. “Sexmission” – It is impossible not to mention the cult Juliusz Machulski, which premiered in 1983. It is a science fiction comedy telling the story of two men, Maks and Albert (played by Olgierd Łukaszewicz), who try to survive in a totalitarian world ruled by the League of Women.
4. “Kingsajz” – The result of cooperation with the same director is also the fantasy comedy “Kingsajz” from 1988. In it, he played the role of Nadszyszkownik Kilkujadek, the ruler of the land of dwarves, who accuses the chemist Adaś of producing an elixir that allows him to achieve the size of a human.
5. “Love Stories” – It is also worth paying attention to “Love Stories”, awarded at the Venice International Film Festival. It was with this drama, telling the story of four emotional men in the prime of life, that he made his directorial debut in 1997. He also played one of the main characters.

6. “Kiler” – Juliusz Machulski is also considered an absolute classic of the 90s. He played the role of Commissioner Ryba, trying to catch the title character (played by Cezary Pazura), mistakenly considered a serial killer. He also played the same role in the film’s sequel, “Kiler-ów 2-óch”.
7. “A Week in the Life of a Man” – This is another excellent drama in the artistic oeuvre of Jerzy Stuhr. In it, he created the character of prosecutor Adam Borowski, who commands the respect of society until the fact that he has had a mistress for years is revealed. In this production, he not only starred, but also undertook to write the script and direct.
8. “Persona non grata” – Another outstanding film starring Jerzy Stuhr is the drama “Persona non grata” directed by Krzysztof Zanussi, appreciated by both viewers and critics. For the role of the Counselor, which he created in it, he was honored with the Eagle from the Polish Film Academy.
