A year ago, the real hit on the promenades and souvenir stands on Krupówki, in Krakow, Warsaw, and even in smaller towns, was the goose Pipa. The list of popular mascots also included capybaras. In 2024, both the already iconic geese, as well as capybaras and other animals can be seen again, and a game inspired by a well-known phone game is also starting to enjoy considerable popularity. The Most Popular Souvenirs from Poland. “Even the Biggest Junk Will Sell”
According to a study conducted by Inquiry, 87% of Poles bring souvenirs. They are most often bought spontaneously, at passing stands and stalls, but also on shopping streets or at local markets. We are eager to buy souvenirs not only abroad. What do they buy most often in Poland?
Zakopane is famous for its crowds on Krupówki, and with the crowds of tourists come the souvenir stalls. – On Krupówki everything will sell, even the biggest crap – in a conversation with Interia, one of the owners of a stall on the Zakopane promenade. Among the souvenirs brought from the capital of the Polish Tatras, the leading ones are not necessarily those associated with the mountains. You can find there random objects with the word “Zakopane” printed on them, “folk” costumes, samurai swords, dinosaurs, local products, oscypek and smoked cheeses, as well as plastic aciupagi, slippers and socks. – Magnet reigns supreme. We sell up to 200 pieces a day – admitted another of the Zakopane stallholders.

And what reigns supreme at the Polish seaside? Here too, there could be no shortage of magnets, but also amber jewellery, although it happens that rings, necklaces or bracelets have nothing to do with amber. The hit is… beach sand in a glass bottle. – I am also surprised by this, but the fact is that it is a souvenir that is often bought by visitors – explained stallholders from Władysławowo in an interview with trojmiasto.eska.pl.
What do tourists buy at airports? Souvenirs from Poland are not just kitschy gadgets
The choices of tourists at Polish airports are a bit more surprising. For many, this is the last chance to bring a souvenir from Poland. It is no wonder that you can find everything there. For the forgetful, airport shops offer magnets from almost every corner of the country, kitschy Wawel dragons and mermaids, souvenirs from the mountains and seashells, as well as valuable jewellery, ceramics from Bolesławiec or souvenir plates and paintings with everything that can be associated with Poland and best contained in one picture. Local products are also in demand, including sweets, hams and sausages, alcohol, and even “lard for your backpack”. – Foreign customers are eager to buy regional delicatessen products, jams and honeys – lists Andrzej Ruszkowski, sales director of Baltona in an interview with fly4free.pl. However, the leader is… Żubrówka.
