On July 8, the media reported a report filed to the prosecutor’s office by TVP liquidator Daniel Gorgosz. It was supposed to concern financial irregularities, failure to fulfill duties and exceeding authority by the previous management of Belsat TV, including former editor-in-chief Agnieszka Romaszewska-Guzy. Now, Telewizja Polska has issued an official statement on the matter.
Telewizja Polska filed a notice to the Prosecutor’s Office
“The submitted notification is the result of a review of part of the costs incurred in the years 2018-2023 conducted in the Company in the scope covering the ordering of IT services from an external company by employees, associates and the management of the TVP organizational unit,” we read in the content of the statement. In the further part of it, Telewizja Polska justifies the reason for submitting the aforementioned notification.
“The crime was supposed to consist in the failure to perform duties and exceeding the powers of persons holding managerial positions, who jointly and in agreement ordered IT services. These services either cannot be identified – there is no trace of their performance, or their prices were overstated several dozen times and economically unjustified. As a result of such action, TVP SA in liquidation suffered financial loss of at least PLN 7 million and will demand compensation for the loss incurred in this way” – reads the statement published in the TVP Information Center.
