Nowadays, minimalism and bright colors reign supreme in homes. Older furniture is in the attic or basement, gathering dust. If you are sure you will not use it, try selling it. You can earn a lot.

Furniture used to be simple and functional. It had to have lots of drawers, shelves and cabinets to hold everything. Dark wood dominated, covered with shiny varnish. Wall units, sideboards with display cabinets, dachshund coffee tables and armchairs with characteristic, round backrests reigned supreme. You don’t even realize how much they can be worth today.

Antiques can most often be found in grandma’s basement or in the attic at home. Young people today have a completely different aesthetic, so old, wooden furniture often ends up in the trash or at a flea market. However, some of them can have great value, not only sentimental. The more visible signs of time on the furniture, the better. They testify to its uniqueness. As of July 5, 2024, you can find antique sideboards at high prices on the OLX portal. Collectors are willing to pay up to 10 thousand zlotys for an oak piece of furniture from the 1920s. younger and smaller furniture in a similar style ranges from PLN 2,000 to PLN 4,000.

Are antiques expensive? You can earn a few hundred zlotys for one armchair

According to the principle adopted in Poland, an antique can be called an item that is at least 100 years old and, in addition to its historical value, also has utility value. It is expensive because it is a rare and unique item. On OLX, you can hunt down pre-war wooden chairs with upholstered seats. The price for one piece is approximately PLN 300. Users also sell entire sets for an office or living room. For example, they want 16 thousand złoty for a set consisting of a desk, wardrobe and armchair, and 13 thousand złoty for two armchairs and a sofa.
