I only earn enough for food and bills. I’m thinking more and more about moving out of Poland

In recent years, many people have complained about their financial situation. One of them is 30-year-old Ola. – I believe that by working hard and honestly, I deserve much more – she writes in her letter. With her consent, we publish it in its entirety.

I am 30 years old and live in Warsaw. I started working professionally while I was still studying. If someone had told me then how much I would earn in the future, I would have certainly been happy. I have never had any great ambitions in this regard. I simply wanted to live happily, without worrying about the future. However, now I know that in our country, in order not to worry about tomorrow, you have to be very rich indeed.

I can save less from my salary than I did 10 years ago

I recently realized that 10 years ago, when I earned much less, I was able to save more money than I do now. At the end of the month, I would always put a thousand zlotys into a savings account. Now I save half that amount, and I still can’t do it every month. It’s really frustrating!

I work a lot, and I still barely make ends meet. Of course, I have money for food, rent and bills. However, I can’t afford any pleasures. I last went on vacation two years ago. Last year I couldn’t afford to go on any trip. For someone it may seem like a trifle. However, I believe that by working hard and honestly, I deserve much more.

We are poor people who struggle with high prices

Recently I was irritated by the words of a certain journalist who claims that the true left in Poland is PiS and that Poles have had a better life thanks to this party’s rule. Really? I haven’t heard such an absurd thesis in a long time! For many people, including me, the situation has worsened significantly during the rule of KaczyƄski’s team. And of course – we are not millionaires on whom “a fair government imposed high taxes”.

Quite the opposite. We are poor people who have been struggling with the consequences of high prices for several years. And although prices have recently slowed down, I find it hard to believe that they will improve. The mess that the previous government left in this matter does not give me hope for the future. I am thinking more and more often about moving out of our country.
