Women love to wear in the summer and then cry. The heels are yellow, cracked and feel like a washboard

Cracked heels are a problem for people of all ages. Especially in the summer, we want to get rid of them at all costs, before we put on open shoes. It turns out that one type of footwear can only worsen the situation.

Cracked heels are not aesthetically pleasing, and can also cause pain when walking. They are dry, tight, flake excessively, itch, and burn. They take on a yellow color, which is why many women are afraid to wear open shoes. There may be several reasons for this state of affairs. First of all, it is worth being aware that one mistake will make your feet look even worse.

What Causes Cracked Heels? This Kind of Shoe Is the Biggest Evil for Feet

Cracked heels are caused by excessive keratinization of the epidermis. The skin becomes hard, loses its firmness and elasticity. Characteristic cracks appear on its surface. Most often, this is a consequence of neglect and improper care, e.g. not using moisturizing balms and creams. Bad socks and inappropriate footwear also contribute to cracked heels.

If they are too tight and made of synthetic materials, the problem will only get worse. The biggest enemy of heels are flip-flops, especially thongs. They have thin soles and do not provide adequate support. High heels and ballet flats also have a negative impact on the condition of your feet.

TIP! If you have cracked heels, buy shoes made of natural leather or materials that help your feet breathe.

Home remedies for cracked heels. Make a smoothing coffee scrub

If you want to improve the appearance of your heels, do not scratch them or remove the calloused skin yourself. Homemade peels work very well. Their task is to smooth and soften the skin. Additionally, they improve blood circulation. You will need:

  • 2 tablespoons of ground coffee,
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil,
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice.

Mix all ingredients thoroughly and apply to feet. Perform a gentle massage, leave the paste for 15 minutes and wash off with lukewarm water. Finally, apply an intensively moisturizing cream to your heels. This treatment can be safely used once a week.
