The block is located at 14 Północna Street in Jastrzębie-Zdrój. When it was put into use, the apartments on the top floor were bought by detective Jerzy G., and in 1994 he began building an unauthorized building on its roof. The unsightly extension has three floors and over 2 thousand square meters. Inside, there was to be a swimming pool, a garden for animals and an aquarium with piranhas.

Even though the villa raised doubts from the beginning and was not built according to the plan, the detective did not stop working. – That was exactly the plan, to arrange it in the form of an airplane. There was even supposed to be something like a fuselage. Of course, there is no helicopter landing pad, but there is a winch and balloon flights could take place. Such an attraction – explained Jerzy G. in an interview with the portal Jastrzebiezdroj.naszemiasto.pl.

The building inspector had many reservations about the villa. The project was poorly prepared. There were substantive errors and poorly executed ventilation. The investor denied the allegations and did not stop the construction. In 2014, the inspector issued a demolition order, but it did not take place.

The next decision to demolish the building was made in February 2023. In June of this year, work began inside the building, while work outside is starting any day now. The first stage is to last until November and cost 3 million złoty. The cost of the second stage is to be similar, so the entire operation will amount to over 6 million złoty. The building is home to around 400 people, and the residents of the top floors were evicted during the demolition. They received replacement apartments or found accommodation on their own.
