By recording a cover of “Oczko wałów” he inaugurated the action “Kayax XX Rework”, which the Kayax label founded by Kayah and Tomik Gerwiński is celebrating its 20th anniversary. As part of it, the musicians create new and perverse versions of the greatest hits from the Kayax catalog. The action was planned for the last five days of December. Another cover will be published on streaming services every day. Apart from Zalewski, the project is also attended by Mery Spolsky, Arek Kłusowski, Julia Wieniawa and Kuba Karaś, and Ania Leon debuting in Kayax.
Krzysztof Zalewski covered Tymek. No music
“Oczko wałów” premiered in 2020 and made a great impression on the audience. The 27-year-old rapper Tymek has accustomed fans to the fact that there are no major genre restrictions for him and he freely navigates between them, but with this song he managed to surprise the audience once again.
After the song’s debut, people asked: “Is there a style that Tymek will not find himself in?”, “I love Tymek with all my heart – Is he rap or singing slow pieces”, “I follow Tymek for a good few years, how he has changed since the beginning of his career is incredible, I respect him a lot for his courage and lack of fear in trying new styles “,” How amazing this boy is! Incredible talent and courage “. Let us remind you that Tymek beat Taco Hemingway in 2019 and became the most popular Polish artist on Spotify and, for example, his “Body language” took first place on the list of the 10 most popular songs in Poland. The same single also brought him his first diamond record.
Since its premiere, the clip for “Oczka w życia” has gathered 15.7 million views on YouTube alone, and another 16 million views on Spotify. This is what it sounds like in the original:
And this is how Krzysztof Zalewski made it, who is also famous for the fact that he likes to play with various musical genres and likes experiments:
Zalewski himself comments:
I’ve always wanted to record a song using only my voice as all the instruments. Is it possible to imagine a better testing ground than a work of its own?
At the end of November, the latest album by Krzysztof Zalewski – “MTV Unplugged” was released. It’s a concert without electricity, but full of energy every second: from “Her Majesty” from the album “Zelig”, with which Zalewski begins his unplugged performance, through songs from the latest album “Zabawa”, to “Miłość Miłość” to the finale. There is also a premiere: the song “Ptaki”, written especially for the MTV Unplugged concert, the song an appeal to rise above the divisions. The recording was also accompanied by various musical guests: Paulina and Natalia Przybysz sang with Zalewski the song “One Heart” and a cover of “Romanca Cherubina”, which was originally performed by Wanda Warska and Czesław Niemen. Justyna Święs and Kuba Karaś from The Dumplings band or Miłosz Pękala, a vibraphone virtuoso, also appeared on the stage.
