For funeral home employees, dealing with the dead is the norm. But sometimes situations arise that make even the employees widen their eyes and raise their eyebrows. What are the strangest requests funeral home clients get?

Among doctors, beauticians, trainers and experts in etiquette, we can also find funeral home employees online. They satisfy the curiosity of Internet users and sometimes also soothe their nerves related to the burial, which – thanks to them – has become a bit more ordinary. Many issues are handled similarly, but sometimes clients have special requests. What is the strangest thing funeral home employees have heard?

What requests do funeral home clients have?

The answer to this question was given in one of the videos shared on TikTok by the Służew Funeral Home. A few unusual requests from clients were revealed by its employee, Ms. Kasia. However, she emphasized that in most cases, for people associated with this profession, “these are not strange requests, but I realize that for outsiders, they may be.”

Among the more mundane and standard requests, we hear about combining the ashes of two loved ones and burying them together in a grave. Sometimes families ask about the possibility of adding, for example, the ashes of a pet to the coffin. Some ask for a lock of hair to be cut off as a keepsake.

Some funeral homes offer the preparation of more permanent mementos, such as embedding a lock of hair or a fingerprint in a reliquary. There are also more precious forms of immortalizing the deceased. – If the family so wishes, a diamond can be made from some of the ashes. And we recently had such a beautiful request. A lady asked to have a diamond, which was made from her husband’s ashes, embedded in her wedding ring – said Mrs. Kasia.

Funeral Home Clients’ Weirdest Requests? “Still Makes Me Chill”

However, there are less “cute” requests from customers. Ms. Kasia told us about one of them, not hiding that it made a big impression on her. She called it “the strangest situation that still chills me somewhere.”

It was a request from the family to pierce the heart of the deceased. To be sure that for sure… Yes, exactly

– she revealed, without finishing the sentence, because there was no need for an ending here.
