Although it is hard to believe, Roma Gąsiorowska made her debut on the big screen over twenty years ago. In 2003, she made her debut in Jerzy Stuhr’s “Pogoda na jutro” and eight years later she received the Golden Lion at the Gdynia festival for her leading role in the drama “Ki”.
At this point, the actress has starred in over 40 films. “Sometimes I can’t believe that I’ve done so many films. And here’s where great gratitude floods my heart when I write about it. Creating is my life,” she said on social media.
Roma Gąsiorowska experienced a tragedy as a teenager. Her mother died at the age of 40.
Roma Gąsiorowska achieved success, which she owes to hard work, talent and dedication. But the actress’s life was not always joyful. When she was 17, her mother became seriously ill. She told more about it in an interview for the monthly “Pani”:
I felt a great injustice of fate, I didn’t understand why this was happening to us and I didn’t know what would happen next when I found out that my mother had cancer. A year later she passed away and I was left with a black hole in my heart. She was 40 years old.
The actress openly admitted that her previous world had fallen apart at that time. – I had to build a new one. Therapy helped. Step by step, I was coming out of the trauma, learning to live. And learning to want to live. I know, it’s a strong thing to say, but that’s how it was. When you suddenly have a black hole, you don’t understand why and what for you are in the world, you learn to enjoy the fact that the sun is shining and that there are flowers, and that life can still be beautiful – the actress confessed.
Over the years she has played in hundreds of productions and shows. Now she shares her method of working with others.
After graduating from high school in Bydgoszcz, Gąsiorowska chose to study at the Krakow State Drama School. As she said, she chose acting because it had been her passion since childhood, but she also believes that this field is a path to self-discovery. Tragic circumstances meant that the actress had to mature faster than her peers.
Over the years of work, she has also developed her own acting method, which also works well in general self-improvement. She shares it in her school “AktoRStudio”. – The method of work that I created thanks to this is no longer just for actors. It contains many elements of personal development, strengthens and gives tools that make us learn to treat failure or loss as lessons and a new beginning – admitted Roma Gąsiorowska.
