In hot weather, we instinctively choose sandals or flip-flops. Is it appropriate to wear them?

Etiquette requires that you dress appropriately for a funeral. Dresses that are too short or have deep necklines are out of the question. Similar rules apply to footwear. As we read in the Funeral Guide, even in the heat, it is appropriate to wear shoes that cover the toes. Therefore, sandals or flip-flops are definitely out of the question. Instead, it is worth choosing ballet flats, loafers, flat pumps or pumps with a light heel. A high heel may be too provocative. After all, we go to a funeral to show respect for the deceased and their grieving loved ones, not to show off our favorite stilettos. Sports shoes should also stay in the closet.
How to survive the heat in closed shoes?
If we wear closed shoes when it is hot, we must take into account that it may be uncomfortable. Maybe, but not necessarily. It is worth preparing properly. According to the rules of savoir vivre, we should wear thin tights. It is not only a matter of etiquette, but also – contrary to appearances – comfort. It is easier to avoid abrasions and blisters in tights. How else is it worth protecting yourself?
