Disney and Pixar are on a roll again. “Inside Out 2” has crossed the coveted billion dollar mark at the global box office. The last Pixar film to do so was “Toy Story 4,” which hit theaters in 2019. However, this is still not the end of the successes of the famous animation.
New record for Disney and Pixar. No film has achieved this before
“Inside Out 2” earned $1,014.8 billion in just 19 days. This is the fastest time for an animated film to reach the billion-dollar mark in history. The previous record was held by “Frozen 2,” which earned nine zeros in 25 days. It is also worth mentioning here that only 11 animated films have ever earned that amount, eight of which were released by Disney and Pixar.
According to Deadline, “Inside Out 2” climbed to the top of the list of the most popular animations in North America in three weeks. For now, “Toy Story 3” remains number one, just behind the fairy tale about toys is “The Lion King”, and “Toy Story 4” closes the podium. Kelsey Mann’s latest work came in fifth place on the list, behind “Shrek 2.
“Inside Out 2” breaks the box office record
In addition to being a huge box office success, “Inside Out 2” also gained critical acclaim. On Rotten Tomatoes, reviewers rated the production 90 percent. on the scale of freshness – the audience scored 96. “‘Inside Out 2’ is a picture that also teaches self-acceptance, understanding and forbearance. Just as the first part of Riley’s adventures showed that each of our emotions is important on the path to happiness, the second part of the story proves that to build our identity we also need those moments that we would rather not remember. And that is why ‘Inside Out 2’ is the wisest fairy tale I have ever seen, and every parent should watch it with their child” – I wrote in my review of the film after the screening.
