shocks, moves and surprises almost all over the world. The talent show is also popular in Great Britain. The 17th edition, in which the participants were once again assessed by a jury consisting of Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli, also did not disappoint. Many talented people appeared at the auditions. Among the candidates for victory was also 28-year-old Sydnie Christmas. Her performance caused a lot of emotions, but it is not only the jurors who will remember what happened on stage for a long time. Why?
She started with a joke, and then shocked the “Mam Talent” judges. It didn’t look like she would be successful.
Already in the first minutes of the conversation, she amused the jurors and the audience by openly admitting that she had a “terrible surname” and an even worse middle name (Sydnie Mary Christmas, which can be translated as Sydnie Merry Christmas). It turned out to be a joke, which the jurors responded with the comment “fortunately”.
At the audition, she decided to perform a cover of the song “Tomorrow” from the movie “Annie”, which was also the first song she sang on stage as a child. Simon Cowell did not hide his disappointment with this choice. As it turned out, this is his hated song, and one that is often chosen by singing kids. After a short exchange of words and pleasantries, the 28-year-old moved on to a performance that surprised everyone, including Cowell. “I hope I can sing it better than when I was 4,” she began.
She received a golden button and a standing ovation. “This is the best version of this song”
Tears in the audience and in the eyes of the jurors, admiration and standing ovations are nothing. Even Cowell got up from his chair. Although Sydnie did not hide her surprise at the reaction of the audience and the jurors, unable to hold back her tears, she completely fell apart when it came to the ratings. The 28-year-old’s daring performance was rewarded with a golden button from Amanda Holden. – This is the best version of this song I have ever heard in my life – said the juror. “I hated that song, but now I love it,” Cowell added. Everyone agreed that it was one of the best performances in the history of the program. Sydnie Christmas went straight to the next stage. How did her fate turn out? In the final of the 17th edition of “Britain’s Got Talent”, which took place on June 2, Sydnie took first place. If you’d like, please vote in our poll below.
