Alicja Walczak was the star of the first edition of “Big Brother”. What did she do after the program?
Alicja Walczak graduated from three faculties – political science, journalism and studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk. In one of her interviews, she admitted that she was afraid to appear in the program, because it was the first edition and she was not sure how viewers would accept the new format.
The program was won by Janusz Dzięcioł, and Alicja Walczak took fourth place from the bottom. After the broadcast ended, she tried her hand at the media. She starred in two films, but eventually disappeared from the screen. Viewers remember her as a very religious person.which she herself has mentioned many times in interviews. – I was raised in a believing, Catholic family and my early years were largely spent in church. (…) I have never encountered any negative comments about my faith, maybe because I try very hard not to flaunt it – she said.
Fate did not spare her. First she had a car accident and then she got cancer
After the program, Alicja Walczak suffered a serious injury, after which she had problems with her spine and had to undergo rehabilitation. When she recovered, it turned out that she was suffering from small cell lung cancer. – There was adoration, everyone could approach and touch the Lord Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. When I touched the monstrance, I felt great warmth, and in my heart I heard “You will be healed. In February you will receive the results that you are healthy”. (…) In February, I had a tomocomputer scan, which showed that everything was clean and there was no trace of the nodules on the lungs – she explained. Alicja Walczak became a painter, and her paintings could be seen, among others, at an exhibition in Sopot. She is also interested in photography and poetry.
