Jan Frycz met Grażyna Laszczyk during his studies. They both attended theatre school. They decided to get married when the actor was in his second year of studies. He was 22 at the time, but the reason for the wedding was not great love, but pregnancy. Years later, he admitted that it was a hasty decision, and that his parents were the ones who insisted on the marriage. – It just happened that way. I got married without any sense – in an interview with “Playboy”. Today, however, he rarely talks about either this or his next relationship.

In October 1977, their daughter Gabriela was born. It was a hot period in the actor’s life. He almost dropped out of college, and all because of a job in the theater that had already been secured. Family life was not on his mind. When Gabriela was a few months old, Frycz and Laszczyk divorced. She herself was apparently not surprised at all, as she had sensed an imminent separation. Frycz joined the cast of the Juliusz Słowacki Theater, and Grażyna decided to take care of her own and her daughter’s future.

She graduated and fulfilled her dream, which was to get a job at the Old Theatre in Krakow. Over the years, she has played many acclaimed roles on the stage. In 1990, she gave up her theatre career, but she did not abandon acting. Grażyna Laszczyk has roles in such productions as “Nadzór”, “Ekstradycja”, “Dom”, “Na Wspólnej”, “Ojciec Mateusz”, “Na dobre i na złe”, as well as “Stulecie winnych”, available on TVP VOD, in which she played Jadwiga Reutt, the headmistress of the junior high school attended by the twins Ania and Mania.
