For several years now, Piotr Adamczyk has been trying his hand at the film industry overseas. Although he has played roles in several Hollywood productions, he emphasizes that a career in the USA is unattainable for him. In one of the latest interviews, he revealed how local directors and producers perceive him.

Although in the domestic industry he was perceived only through the prism of the characters he created, overseas he could start with a clean slate. “America saved me,” he argued. However, before he managed to make it in Hollywood, he attended many castings, which often ended in failure. The breakthrough came only in 2021, when he starred in the series “Hawkeye”. Since then, he has appeared in several other hit productions, such as “For All Mankind”, “Falling Stars” and “Night Sky”. – I waited a long time for my chance – he said and added that it was worth trying.

he also does not hide the fact that in recent years he has been playing ambitious roles mainly in the USA, not in his homeland, and yet he does not intend to permanently settle overseas. In an interview for “Rzeczpospolita” he revealed that when he gave up acting in romantic comedies, it turned out that the domestic industry had nothing to offer him. – There was complete silence around me, there were empty spaces in the calendar. Fortunately, I arrived in America right away – he talked about the moment that pushed him to this decision.

When Hollywood titles began to grow in his portfolio, Polish directors suddenly noticed his potential and many skills. “I am happy about this flood, which, in my opinion, came from American roles unrelated to my previous employment. In Poland, they also gave me food for thought,” he said with conviction. At the same time, he emphasized that 10 years ago he would not have even imagined that his career would take such a turn. He admitted that this was a huge achievement, among others. “They understand that the viewer is everywhere, which is why they suck up a little to both Europeans and Africans, and practically all continents have their representation in American cinema and series,” he explained his observations on TVN’s breakfast program.

Even though he doesn’t complain about the lack of offers today, he has no illusions that he will have an outstanding career. He is perfectly aware that Hollywood directors do not treat him on an equal footing with international stars, but put him in one row, among others. with waiters and taxi drivers who also dream of fulfilling their “American dream”. – I don’t say this with superiority, during my student days in London I made a lot of mistakes while moving or washing windows – he said in “Gazeta Wyborcza” and added that he only has an advantage over the competition thanks to his over 30 years of experience.
