“I’ve got talent!” program is extremely popular not only in Poland, but also in Great Britain and the United States. A unique situation occurred in the American edition of the program. Simon Cowell interrupted the singers’ performance and then, amid cries of dissatisfaction from the audience, criticized their performance.

The Thai group L6 came to the United States especially to record “Got Talent!”. In this way, the siblings and cousin fulfilled the dream of the deceased family elder, who had been encouraging them to take part in the program for years. When they came on stage, they already won the hearts of the audience and the jurors with their story. The latter, before L6 started singing, expressed aloud the thoughts of everyone in the studio: may this experienced family deserve a place in the program not only with its story, but also with its performance.
When after several dozen seconds Simon Cowell told them to stop singing, the audience did not understand what was happening. L6 cried on stage, but not from happiness – Cowell sharply criticized their performance and ordered it to be completely changed. Their rendition of Celine Dion’s “All by Myself” was throwaway:
Okay, stop. My dears, my dears… I want to say something. There are many groups that sing. This foundation is tragic. “Kick him out,” he ordered, to the crowd’s boos. – There are very few groups that sing a cappella. And you have the potential to be such a group! – he encouraged.
The tears dried immediately. The L6 group had the background music turned off, which drowned out their voices. It was immediately clear that Cowell had demonstrated brilliant alertness. The standing ovation speaks for itself. The juror had his moment of triumph a moment later.
You can immediately hear that this is a group with wonderful voices. As soon as you started singing without any background music, you were unique, unique, you were immediately remembered. You were perfect – he summed up their performance.
