Jenny Ortega’s list includes very recent titles from recent years, as well as absolute classics from several decades ago. The presence of one production will be particularly pleasing to Polish viewers, as it was directed by none other than Andrzej Żuławski.

Yes, of course it’s about “Possession” from 1981. The Pole’s classic, terrifying horror film attracts the attention of foreign viewers more than Polish ones. Ortega explains that for her “Possession” is a film that has a special place in her heart – “not only is it exceptionally beautiful, but I also haven’t seen nothing like him yet. It’s inspiring when a movie gives you so much adrenaline.”

In a similar tone of psychological horror, but without the gore elements, it is “Persona” by Bergman from 1966. The film was also on the list of Ortega’s “favorites”. It keeps you in suspense, does not allow you to determine the objective truth and is one of the productions that influenced the most important contemporary directors – “Persona” is mentioned many times by David Lynch and Denis Villeneuve.

Among the favorite horror films, there was also a classic that preceded “Scream” by 16 years. “Prom” has a not particularly sophisticated plot and shows the murder of American teenagers, a favorite of many viewers. Ortega encourages you to watch this production. As he claims, “it is one of the first films of this type in which it is not known who the murderer is.” If you are not convinced, and ” If you haven’t had a chance to see “Prom Prom”, this charming trailer from years ago will undoubtedly encourage you to do so:

Among contemporary productions that appealed to the actress, there was also a horror film from 2015. This “The Witch: A New England Folk Tale” by Robert Eggers. The dark atmosphere, beautiful photos and the phenomenal Anya Taylor-Joy won the heart of Jenny Ortega. “I couldn’t stop thinking about this film for several weeks,” she praises.

The list also included the obligatory theme of moving to a cursed house. Of the many suggestions on this topic, Jenna Ortega suggests “Insidious” from 2010. The actress remembered the film mainly because she carelessly watched it when she was only 12 years old. “A few shots from this film stayed with me forever.”
