The best scene in “Rogue of the Dragon” came about by accident. See which one

One of the best and most exciting prices in “Dragon House” was created completely by accident. The director told how it happened.

“Road of the Dragon”, a spin-off of “Game of Thrones”, returns with new episodes of season 2. However, it is worth recalling one of the best scenes from season 1 that was created completely by accidentbecoming a very important element in the series.

Episode eight, titled “Lord of the Tides,” was filled with emotional moments as Viserys asked his family for unity before his death. Director Geeta Vasant Patel revealed that the fall of the crown from the head of Paddy Considine, playing the role of King Viserys, was completely random. However, the actors did not step out of their roles. Matt Smith, playing Daemon, spontaneously picked up the crown and handed it to Considine. This unplanned moment was so moving that the production team decided to include it in the final version of the episode.

In the original script, the emotional scene between Viserys and Daemon took place during a gala dinner, where Daemon was supposed to give a touching speech. However, as Patel explained, there were too many people in the room at the time for the moment to resonate properly. “During assembly, we discovered that the fall of the corona was the key moment” – Patel explained. So the creators decided to replace the planned speech scene with a scene with a crown. We have seen many times in films and series that gestures can mean much more than words, and this was an act of this kind. You can watch this specific clip of the episode below.

An emotional turning point in the brothers’ relationship

The relationship between Viserys and Daemon has been tumultuous since the beginning of the series. Daemon, motivated by the desire to gain power, often conflicted with his brother. In the series pilot, he clearly showed his desire to claim the crown, and in the fourth episode, he returned to King’s Landing with one of his own, declaring himself king of the Narrow Sea. However, the moment when Daemon hands the crown to his brothershows how much their relationship has changed.

The future of House Targaryen

The death of King Viserys, who maintained peace in Westeros throughout his reign, marks the end of stability. Now that there is no one to stop his family from fighting within, the time of the Dance of Dragons is approaching, that is the first civil war during the Targaryen rule.

Accidents and improvisations make productions better

In the history of cinema, we know many unplanned scenes and improvisations that became iconic and added to the quality of the production. The scene when Sir Ian McKellen playing Gandalf in the first part of the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy, he accidentally hit his head in Bilbo’s house, added a lot of authenticity to that situation. On the other hand improvisation of Rutger Hauer’s monologue at the end of “Blade Runner” is still considered one of the best movie scenes ever made.
