Singer and actress Jane Birkin He will return to the stage next January, after the stroke he suffered last August, and from which he has recovered.

As the magazine progresses in its latest issue Paris Match, Birkin will resume on January 8 the promotional tour of his latest album, Oh! sorry, you were sleeping ..!, and on the 12th, the documentary about his life made by his daughter, actress Charlotte Gainsbourg, will be released.

The movie, Jane par Charlotte, was screened out of competition last July at the last Cannes Film Festival.

The singer and actress had her stroke on August 29, when he was in the Brittany region on a tour to promote his album, the fourteenth of his musical career.

“I was very lucky. A friend noticed that she spoke strangely. She realized immediately that something was not right,” she explained herself.

Hospitalized urgently in Nantes, and later transferred to a center on the outskirts of Paris, the doctors determined that the accident had been light, but they prescribed – in addition to the treatment – absolute rest.

And it is that, at 75, the artist led a “too active” life, sources from her environment tell the magazine. “It has never been reasonable.”

After four months of rest, “it will be a woman still convalescing” who will return to the stage on January 8, they say.

Of British origin but settled in France since the late 1960s and a French national, Birkin formed a groundbreaking musical duo with French singer-songwriter Serge Gainsbourg, who died in 1991. (I)
