This ban on the Baltic Sea is becoming more and more common. Fine up to PLN 500. Half of Poles support it

The holiday season is in full swing, and the most popular seaside spots for Polish vacationers are already preparing for crowds… and introducing bans. The changes will primarily affect pet owners. Interestingly, most Poles support them.

Polish beaches can be a real Wild West. It’s not just about screens and fighting for every inch of space. By now, Poles have become accustomed to being able to relax in the company of their pets on most beaches. However, prohibition signs appear more and more often in front of entrances. According to the research of the Nationwide Ariadna Research Panel conducted on behalf of Wirtualna Polska, the majority of Poles support such bans.

You are not allowed on these beaches with a dog. Half of Poles support the ban

Not all beaches are pet-friendly. The commune also extends some bans to cats. Some restrictions apply, for example, only in the summer season, when there are more tourists. From May 1 to September 30, outside the hours of 6 p.m. and midnight, you will not be allowed to bring your dogs, for example, to the beach in Sopot. You will not be allowed to enter guarded beaches or bathing areas, e.g. outside specific times, unless signs say otherwise. You can enter with your pet in Darłowo or Rowy, but only if it is wearing a muzzle and on a leash. The rules change like in a kaleidoscope. Before each trip, it is worth checking whether the town where you will be spending your holiday allows you to relax on the beach with your dog. Breaking the ban will result in a fine of up to PLN 500.

Not just entering with a dog. What not to do on the beach? The fines may pile up heavily

“Paravaning” has become a part of our blood. Not everyone knows that such “reserving” a corner may result in a fine. This applies to situations where the regulations prohibit unfolding screens, but also… reserving space and leaving the seaside space. – First of all, a separate piece of beach does not cease to be a public place because someone has set up their private screen on it – Dr. Mikołaj Małecki, creator of the Dogmaty Karnisty blog. Effect? A fine of up to PLN 500. What else can you get y for?

  • Littering. Leaving cans and bottles, cigarette butts and other garbage may result in a fine of up to PLN 500.
  • Lighting a bonfire and barbecue. Many beaches have special places where you can barbecue without any problems. In other cases, the vacationer may end up with a ticket for disturbing the peace or creating a fire hazard.
  • Drinking alcohol. It is obvious that alcohol cannot be consumed in public places, including beaches.
  • Disturbing the peace. This applies not only to the previously mentioned lighting of the barbecue, but also to listening to loud music or other behaviors that disturb others.
