According to Variety, the legendary rock group is in the process of transferring the rights to its music catalog to Sony Music. According to the website’s sources, the negotiations reached a record amount of USD 1.27 billion. The rights taken over by Sony will not include live performances, which will be retained by the group’s founders Brian May and Roger Taylor, who have been performing Queen’s repertoire for years with Adam Lambert.
