They sued Madonna because they couldn’t get enough sleep, but they already changed their mind. This is the third such situation

Madonna’s fans sued the artist because she was two hours late for her own performance. The artist’s lawyer explained that the delays were due to technical problems. However, in recent years the pop star has been accused of failing to honor trade agreements several times.

Michael Fellows and Jason Alvarez participated in the Celebration Tour in December 2023. The artist’s fans appeared at the Barclays Center in New York. The star’s performance was supposed to start at 8:30 p.m., but the concert was significantly delayed.

They sued Madonna because they couldn’t sleep. After half a year they withdrew

Madonna’s fans claim that the singer went on stage “between 10:45 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.,” which was an unacceptable delay for the two people present at the concert. The men accused Madonna, the owners of Barclays Center and the event organizer, Live Nation, of “unfair commercial practices” in connection with providing a false start time of the event.

Fellows and Alvarez claimed that as a result of the Queen of Pop’s tardiness, they were “stranded in the middle of the night.” The concert ended much later than expected, so they missed public transport. In turn, private carriers, due to the increased traffic, have significantly increased the prices of their services.

This is Madonna’s third such case in recent years

Madonna’s fans swore that if they had known that the concert would be delayed, they would not have bought a ticket. Additionally, the event took place in the middle of the week. Due to the stars’ tardiness, Fellows and Alvarez were unable to get enough sleep before work. The concert organizers explained that the situation was caused by technical problems.

Half a year after filing the lawsuit, Madonna’s fans voluntarily withdrew the lawsuit. The artist’s lawyer explained that Fellows and Alvarez’s decision is not the result of a settlement between the parties. The artist’s lawyers had already filed a motion to dismiss the case much earlier, claiming that Madonna’s fans know perfectly well that the star usually starts her concerts late.

As “The Guardian” this is not the first accusation against Madonna made by fans outraged by the breach of contract terms when purchasing tickets for the star’s concert. In 2019, a fan from Florida also sued the singer. A year later, they did it at a concert in New York. Both lawsuits were voluntarily withdrawn.
