It has been known for a long time that Laurence Fishburne will play Regis. However, the production tries to keep the most important issues secret until the series premiere – Fishburne is not shown in the make-up, and it is not revealed how much he will have in common with the book’s Regis. But what are the fans of the series who follow subsequent filming plans for?
Thanks to them, the first photos of the actor in make-up appeared online. Fishburne in the photos looks a bit like Regis, whom CD Projekt offered to players – he has gray-gray, quite thick hair with sideburns. He is dressed in traveling clothes – a green vest and trousers, long shoes and a blue shirt:
What did Andrzej Sapkowski write about the appearance of a vampire? In the book, he appears in the third part of the Saga. Regis was repeatedly described as resembling a “tax collector” who had a habit of smiling with pursed lips:
(…) they saw a grizzled head, and then a face decorated with a nobly humped nose, belonging not to a ghoul, but to a slim, middle-aged man – writes the master in “Baptism of Fire”.
The first meeting with Regis takes place at the cemetery and ends with heavy drinking, as the vampire offers the entire Witcher team a first-class moonshine. There is a non-zero chance that this scene will make it into the series. The Witcher’s Roach was also spotted on the same set. Does Emiel Regis Rohellec Terzieff-Godefroy look like a tax collector in the photographs? You have to answer this question for yourself. However, I am obliged to remind you that the times, although reminiscent of the European Middle Ages, are completely made up and nothing that Netflix proposed in its series interpretation of Saga should be surprising or shocking. Laurence Fishburne himself has extensive acting experience and the role he will play in the series is not his first.
