Why did Eisenberg shoot the film in Poland?

Eisenberg decided to make the film in Poland not by accident. The actor admits that his ancestors come from Poland and their history is a huge part of his national identity. – Much of this film is based on the true story of my family. We even shot one of the scenes in the apartment from which my family escaped in 1938 – he said in one of the recordings that can be found online.

– I feel a strong connection with this country. In my opinion, the histories of Jews and Poles are intertwined, although they are not presented in the best way today. I would like to help repair Polish-Jewish relations. This film does that – said the actor in an interview with a journalist from “Dzień Dobry TVN”.
