Zofia Jastrzębska was born in 1998 in Kraków. There she also graduated from the Academy of Theater Arts, which she had planned to enter many years earlier. “When I said at home that I wanted to apply to theater school, my mother nodded and just said: OK, you have three chances,” she said in an interview with Onet.
While still in high school, Jastrzębska devoted herself entirely to preparing for her chosen career path. The actress not only gave up attending events, but also broke up with her boyfriend to have time to pursue her dreams. “I thought I had to focus on myself, go and fight for my dreams. If I don’t fight, no one will do it for me,” she explained in an interview with Vouge magazine. The young actress’s television debut took place in 2019. It was then that Jastrzębska appeared in “Hearts in Love” and “Na dobre i na evil”.
The real breakthrough in her career came three years later, in 2022, when she starred in the feature film “Night Light”. The production was later shown at the Warsaw International Film Festival. Then Jastrzębska received a role in the series “The Girl and the Cosmonaut”, which opened another door to her acting career. Recalling that time, Jastrzębska admitted that although she felt she was fulfilling professionally, she was at a crossroads in life financially. “I had 20 cents in my account, so I couldn’t even buy a roll… I wanted to howl at this helplessness,” the actress admitted in one of the interviews.
She shaved her head for the role. “I thought I was doing it for a greater purpose.”
A little later, Jastrzębska received a role in “Infamia”, in which she played Roma Gita. It was for the needs of this production that Zofia Jastrzębska agreed to shave her head. “It was the most difficult and intimate scene in my entire professional life… I had a kind of “relationship” with my hair. They did something to me. They were my shield, a curtain. I could hide my face behind them. Emotions. And then I stood completely naked in front of the camera. – because without them… However, it helped me to know that there are still communities that shave women’s heads when they feel that they have disgraced themselves in some way. I thought that I was doing it for a greater purpose “- explained the actress in an interview with Onet.
In 2024, the latest production starring the 25-year-old was released on Netflix, “Colors of Evil: Red”, based on the novel by Małgorzata Oliwia-Sobczak. You can read more about the film in .
