he never dreamed of becoming an actor, his greatest passion was architecture and he wanted to connect his future with this direction. However, Marek Walczewski, with whom he performed in a cabaret in high school, asked him to accompany him during the entrance exams to the Krakow theater school. Once in the university building, he decided to try his hand at “overcoming the shyness” he had been struggling with since his teenage years. And although he only knew half of the poem “Bayonet for a Gun” by Władysław Broniewski, it was enough for him to receive the index.
In her arms, Bińczycki healed his broken heart. Although they had a daughter, the marriage did not last
During his studies, he gradually gained self-confidence, which he used not only on stage, but also during pick-ups. His first great love was Aleksandra Górska, with whom he fell head over heels in love. Although she was very flattered by the advances of a friend who was 2 years older than her, she was not interested in him; already then, his dear friend Andrzej Szajewski, whom she eventually married, started to like her. Initially, Bińczycki was devastated by his disappointment in love and did not pay attention to women for a long time. Until, while working in the Silesian Tatra Mountains in Katowice, he met Elżbieta Willówna.
They were united by a common passion and love for the stage, and many hours spent together at rehearsals resulted in love. Already in 1965, they decided to stand on , and soon their daughter Magdalena was born. However, the happiness did not last long and eventually the marriage, although seemingly successful, ended. – Marriage is a gamble. They say “for life”, but it doesn’t always come true. People break up – said the actor in “Pani”. – I don’t believe in acting marriages because they have little chance of surviving – he added bitterly.
When they met, she was a student. It was with her that Bińczycki created the house he had dreamed of for years
After the breakup, Bińczycki fully focused on work, because at that time he had already seen the success of both Jerzy Antczak and Jerzy Hoffman’s film adaptations. In interviews, he emphasized that he had lost faith in love and argued that he was destined to die alone. Life verified his rather pessimistic ideas when one day Elżbieta Grodowska, a student of Polish studies at the Jagiellonian University, asked him for an interview. – I was in my third year of Polish studies, freshly after an exam in contemporary literature, where I discussed the work of Maria Dąbrowska. I asked him for an interview. After all, he was the man who played Bogumił in “Nights and Days” – she recalled in an interview with Local News.
A cordial conversation, the subject of which went significantly beyond purely professional matters, made Bińczycki decide to invite her to the premiere of the play “Queen Mary” at the Stary Theater. From then on, they met regularly, and although there was a 17-year age difference between them, their bond became stronger. They finally fell in love and decided to formalize it. – I was looking for such a woman. Both she and I wanted to have a real home and family. This is what we missed. Despite different temperaments and internal rhythms, our dreams and ideas about home met somewhere. This arrangement of our life together was a time of great renaissance for me. Something new began in my biography, which changed the meaning of my life – said the actor about his beloved. They got married just a year after their first meeting, and in 1982 their Jan was born. They were married until Bińczycki’s death on October 2, 1998. If you feel like it, vote in our poll below.
