It caused trouble for Netflix. Now he has pushed “The Witcher” out of the TOP10 of all time

The series, which may expose Netflix to millions of losses, has been included in the ranking of the most popular English-language productions. The first season of “The Witcher” had to say goodbye to the list.

Has become. “Reindeer” stormed into the ranking of the 10 most popular English-language series on Netflix, knocking the first season of “The Witcher” off its pedestal. As reported by Deadline – since the premiere on the website (remember that it took place on April 11), the production has been watched by as many as 84.5 million users. Although “Reindeer” has not yet reached the top of the list, it still has a chance to be even more successful than the second season of “Bridgerton” or “Stranger Things 3”.

“Reindeer” surpassed “The Witcher” in the Netflix ranking. The series may expose the website to financial losses

Interestingly, the series, the premiere of which was virtually unnoticed on the website and which quickly became one of the most popular productions of this year, may cause many problems for the streaming giant. All because of a lawsuit filed against Netflix by Fiona Harvey – a woman who claims to be the real stalker Martha.

Following the series’ popularity, she began giving interviews in which she clearly opposed the events depicted in it – for example, sending Richard Gadd 41,000 e-mails, hundreds of voicemails, and 106 letters. Due to the accusation, the woman is demanding a huge compensation of $170 million from Netflix. In an interview with The Guardian, a Netflix spokesman noted that the service intends to protect Richard Gadd’s rights “to tell his story.”

“Reindeer” is a seven-episode series telling a story that allegedly happened to its main character, showrunner and screenwriter, Richard Gadd. One day, a man working behind a bar meets a nondescript Martha, who tells him about her life adventures. Since then, the woman regularly visits the bar where the main character works, gets his e-mail address, and over time, floods his inbox with new messages.
