“The man who did it had no scruples towards both my father and my sister. Dad was severely beaten just because he crossed the solid line,” he adds, but then returns to the issue of racism. “What’s even more sad is that the police said it was nothing and that they should shake hands to agree. Where is the justice, a young girl is attacked with gas, her father was beaten up and taken to hospital, and they say to shake hands. This is mockery and sweeping the true intentions of the attackers under the carpet, and thus approving such behavior where we, the Roma, do not feel safe in our country,” we read in the statement.
