For several months now, there have been reports about new Netflix packages with advertising. Recently, such a change has taken place in several countries, including: in the UK. The existing basic package has been replaced with a new one, which introduces advertising for users.
Netflix with ads causes great dissatisfaction. Despite the lower price and better image quality
Some Netflix customers express their dissatisfaction with this on social media. Some of them made it clear that once the new advertising package came into effect, they would completely unsubscribe from the website.
But this has already happened and customers who previously had the basic package now benefit from the cheaper ad-supported package. However, for some people, price does not matter and they do not want to watch spots after each episode of the series.
In the UK, the basic package without ads cost £7.99, or approximately PLN 41. However, from June 4, the new option with advertising costs only £4.99, which is PLN 25.46. The recently introduced option also provides higher Full HD image quality, which was not available in the canceled basic package.
However, changes in bundling seem inevitable. Everyone is looking for additional resources wherever they can. As Reuters reports: “Netflix is increasingly focusing on advertising as it grows financially thanks to its entry into this segment of the streaming media industry. This year, the service was expected to generate $1 billion from advertising, which is a 50% year-on-year increase.”
In Poland, there is no word yet about a package with advertising from Netflix. However, the competition does not sleep
At the moment, Netflix in Poland has not yet launched an advertising package. In this aspect, the streaming giant was overtaken by other platforms, such as SkyShowtime or Max, which has just debuted on the Polish market. However, it seems that the Netflix advertising package in our country is only a matter of time.
Such a change may cause dissatisfaction, but some users will probably be convinced to use the new package because it may be much cheaper. This may also cause some users to decide to subscribe to the service, which they could not afford at the current prices.
