Many regulars of the event were happy that they would be able to sing Wiśniewski’s immortal hits at the Pol’and’Rock Small Stage, but soon further doubts arose. A few months ago, Micha³ Wi¶niewski informed fans that the organizers of Pol’and’Rock rejected his band when he submitted the group to the Eliminations for the festival.
“We have sent the application. We did it especially for you. The fact that we did not get into this festival and that we will not perform is the right of the organizer. I can only repeat what I say every time we are not played by radio stations. Sometimes it is like this that just because you go to this festival doesn’t mean that most people want it […] This band has never won the jury’s favor. Whether it was Eurovision or the festival in Opole – the audience was always behind us. “The fact that you are going to Pol’and’Rock – keep doing it, because it is one of the most important festivals in this country” – one could read on social media. There have already been suggestions in online comments that Wiśniewski bribed the organizers and price was included in the line-up of his team. The organizers decided to make an official announcement on this matter.

Jurek Owsiak was extremely moved by Michał Wiśniewski’s statement. Although the elimination committee rejected it in a democratic vote, the creator of the festival took advantage of the informal right of the “President’s pool”. “We, at the Foundation, have many times influenced Jurek to change his decision, i.e. listening to music that he often did not accept. Moreover, the line-up of many of our editions shows that these changes, and very significant ones,” we read in the statement.
This time, however, Owisak had the last word. “I have never seen such an unusual approach to the whole situation in my life. Modesty? Humility? I don’t know what to call it,” the WOŚP initiator wondered. Therefore, Owisiak personally called Wiśniewski and invited him to the party.
