Before Marzena Kipiel-Sztuka joined the cast of “The World according to Kiepskich”, she imagined her career in the media in a completely different way. She believed that she was perfect to appear in toothpaste advertisements.

In the book “World according to the Kiepskich: the crazy story of the cult Polsat series” she confessed: “I went to castings hoping that maybe I would play in a toothpaste commercial. I was mainly counting on it, because my jaw was in really decent condition. Acting agency in Wrocław, with whom I was involved, sent me an invitation to a casting for a comedy series, where the producer described who they needed in these words: “A woman in her forties with unextinguished sex”.
Marzena Kipiel-Sztuka came to the casting for the series in high heels, a small balconette, a yellow top, a skirt and blue-pearl makeup, which is exactly how she imagined the character of Halina Kiepska. “At the casting, I was partnered by Andrzej Galla, on whose arms I jumped. This caused a burst of laughter from the entire crew,” added the actress in her memoir book. Although the producers of “The World according to the Kiepskich” initially planned to cast her as Helena Paździoch, after the audition they decided that she would be better suited as Halina Kiepska. Another candidate for the role of the main character’s wife was apparently Anna Majcher. However, the actress had to resign from the proposal from the creators of the series.
Ferdynand Kiepski, in turn, was to be played by Andrzej Gałła, who played the role of President Kozłowski in “The World According to Kiepski”. However, the producers of the series said that the main character should be played by a slightly more famous actor. The proposal was first received by Janusz Rewiński, and then by Ryszard Kotys. The second actor was finally cast in the role of Marian Paździoch, and the first one completely resigned from working on the series.
