When shopping, we are most often focused on finding all the products on the list. We pay attention to price, composition and type. In the case of water, whether it is still, carbonated or with added minerals. When choosing bottles, few people pay attention to the color of the cap. It turns out that their shade is not accidental.
This is confirmed by a woman known on the Internet as @sasha.mints. On the TikTok platform, a lover of home tricks and tips shared a video in which the meaning of the colors of water bottle caps.
Colors of caps in mineral water bottles. What do they really mean?
The woman on TikTok explained that the white cap means the water is “processed.” In turn, the green color means that “aroma has been added” to it. Meanwhile, blue is “spring” water and black indicates that the water is “alkaline”.
- White – water treated using advanced purification methods.
- Blue – contains natural spring water.
- Black – This is alkaline water with a higher pH and offers potential health benefits.
- Green – infused or flavored water.
There were many comments under the video from Internet users who were surprised by this fact.

Oh how clever, I’ve never heard of that!
Why bottle caps? They will all be factory attached to the packaging
From July 1, 2024, thanks to the EU SUP directive on reducing the impact of certain plastic products on the environment, all plastic caps throughout the EU should be factory attached to a drink, whether it is a carton or a bottle. Many manufacturers have already introduced the new solution. The reason is, among others, generating less waste. Instead of two pieces of waste, i.e. a bottle and a cap, there will only be one piece of waste, i.e. a bottle with a permanently attached cap. If you feel like it, vote in our poll below.
