It was early 2020 when a video of nine-year-old Quaden crying went viral. The mother recorded the boy’s reaction and words after he once again experienced violence and ridicule at school. Even though he was only nine years old, his friends already made him feel that he was different – Quaden was born with achondroplasia, a form of short stature, and his appearance was different from the rest of his peers at public school. In the recording, the toddler asked for death.
Helpless at this moment, the mother decided to record her son and show everyone what happens to people who are bullied in schools. “This is what bullying does. Educate your children, families and friends,” she said. In later interviews, she said that Quaden – even though he was only nine years old – had already attempted suicide and that his life at primary school had become unbearable and no one was doing anything about it: neither the parents of the bullying children, nor the staff, nor the principal. The video then went around the world and support flowed towards Quaden from every corner on Earth. It didn’t end with a one-time heartbeat – Quaden’s life truly changed.
A boy bullied as a child will star in “Furiosa”
The story of Quaden Bayles touched many people. It was created, among others, a collection for a little Australian’s trip to Disneyland in the USA, local Australian and American movie stars also talked about the boy. To show support, he was invited to matches, film premieres and TV programs. And although no one can compensate him for what he experienced in his early childhood, Quaden was able to completely change his life thanks to his popularity.
He was noticed by an Australian director, thanks to whom he landed on the set of “Three Thousand Years of Longing” and now “”. In the latest part of “Mad Max” he played the role of one of the followers of Eternal Joe, who, together with Furiosa, transports valuable goods from the Citadel to Octania.

The short-statured boy is 13 years old today. Together with her mother, she works against the exclusion of people persecuted due to illness and disability.
