Another week, another Polish film in Netflix’s global top list. This time it’s a blockbuster

A Polish production appears again in the global list of the most watched films on Netflix. The latest TOP10 includes as many as two domestic titles.

Since the premiere of the film “The Color of Evil: Red”, the latest Polish production of Netflix has not left the top of the most watched films on the platform. Even famous foreign premieres could not match the title. However, one more domestic title appeared on the list.

“Too Big for Fairy Tales 2” hit Netflix’s global top list

In the global top of foreign-language films, the second part of the blockbuster “Too Big for Fairy Tales” is in eighth place. The production was watched by almost 1.5 million Netflix users who spent almost 2.5 million hours watching it.

The first part of the film also dominated streaming, and was previously hailed as the most watched Polish family film of the 21st century in cinemas. “‘Too Big for Fairy Tales 2’ is primarily about three young characters and actors. Maciej Karaś, Amelia Fijałkowska and Patryk Siemek create a harmonious trio that is a pleasure to watch. They are extremely natural and authentic – I have the impression that while in the first Karaś was part of the discovery, and now Siemek shines on the screen. The adventure scenes and dialogues with the participation of these two young actors are definitely the strongest point of the film. The weakest point is Maciej Żurawski, who is not very convincing as the father, whom the boys finally meet too often, simplifications, patterns and creators take shortcuts as if they had no idea why a man left his family,” wrote Fr.

“Look for such a cinema in Poland with a smartphone flashlight!”

The production, directed by Kristoffer Rus and written by Agnieszka Dąbrowska, received 5.5 out of 10 stars from viewers on Filmweb. Critics were more kind and gave it a rating of 5.8. “The continuation of the adventures of Waldi, his friends and family is not as successful as the first one. The new plot of the father is a bit too declarative and psychologically simplified,” wrote Tomasz Raczek. “Kristoffer Rus’s film falls far short of perfection. Visually, it resembles a television production rather than a cinema production, there is not enough feature material for a full length, and generational observations usually stop at a superficial level. Sometimes, however, intention turns out to be more important than artistic value. In this case: creating a film for teenagers that, instead of offending, will try to understand them.
