– I’m a bit sad that after such an offensive, the musician from the Closed Ward, no one contacted me. Everyone saw that I put all my heart into running Superjedynka in Opole – says Marcin Daniec to Pomponik. Krzysztof Wałecki claimed in a statement posted on Facebook that everything was arranged during the rehearsal and after the concert. Now the satirist has presented his version of events.

– During long and professional preparations for the SuperJedynek concert in Opole, I received a professional script and materials regarding the activities and achievements of individual bands. Krzysztof Jaryczewski’s name often appeared in the notes about the band (Oddział Zamkyjny – ed.), so I thought he would perform with you that day – explains Marcin Daniec.
Wałecki, who has been recording and giving concerts (with a break) with Branch Closed since 1995, described the events in Opole and addressed Daniec directly in a statement. He didn’t bite his tongue. “So learn forever, ‘professional’, that my name is Krzysztof Wałecki and you have to respect me,” he wrote. Now the satirist replied to the musician, also turning to him:
If you watch the replay without emotion, you will see the respect and sympathy with which I treated each performer! I sincerely apologize for this mistake, but I haven’t seen you in person for… 25 years. Best regards, M. Daniec.
Why wasn’t Jaryczewski on stage?
It was Krzysztof Jaryczewski, together with the drummer of the Tani Hotel band, Jarosław Szlagowski, Wojciech Łuczaj-Pogorzelski, and Paweł Mścisławski, who created the first line-up of the Closed Branch in 1979. Six years later he passed away due to illness caused by alcohol abuse, and he lost his voice for several years.
When in 2016 he submitted an application to the Patent Office to reserve the names Branch Closed and Jary Branch Closed, he emphasized that he saw no chance for the two teams to come together. According to Jaryczewski, he is the one who plays in the “continuation of the first Branch Closed” – the band currently performing under the name Jary Branch Closed. It was then that Jaryczewski’s legal dispute with Wojciech Łuczaj-Pogorzelski began over the rights to the band’s name and some songs.
