Marek Sierocki honestly summarizes Opole. “We are a nation that is always dissatisfied”

Although two days have passed since the end of the Festival in Opole, there is still a lot of talk about the event. The concerts are commented by Marek Sierocki, who was the festival’s spokesman.

The 61st National Polish Song Festival has come to an end. It was the first festival organized by the new TVP authorities, who wanted to prove that concerts are mainly about music and not necessarily political declarations, as was the case in previous years. Although there were some mishaps and insults, e.g. towards the president during cabaret performances, the entire festival was assessed quite positively. “Music is back”, “band festival” – commentators eagerly write.

For example, viewers had slightly less reason to be satisfied. It turns out that live concerts significantly lost sound quality. Opole fans from all over Poland complained that the words of the songs were difficult to hear, and some of the singers were drowned out by the background music. , the festival’s spokesman, spoke.

Marek Sierocki on the organization of the Festival in Opole

In an interview with the website, Marek Sierocki did not hide his satisfaction with how the entire festival was organized. Despite the criticism, it was also appreciated by the viewers who sat in large numbers in front of their TV sets and tuned in to the broadcast from the Opole stage.

I think it was a successful Opole, as evidenced by the very high viewership. Each of these three days had over two million viewers, especially since there was strong competition on Saturday in the form of the Champions League final. The two-part concert in memory of Janusz Kondratowicz had the largest audience, approximately 2.4 million viewers. This is a really very good result – explains Sierocki.

He also referred to technical problems noted by viewers across Poland. It turns out that everything was fine on site:

I watched it live there and everything in the amphitheater was very good. Sometimes the sound on TV is different from the sound on stage, he said.

Since – as always – there were also voices dissatisfied with the new interpretations of some songs, Sierocki summed up the situation briefly:

We are a nation that is always dissatisfied, always looking for a loophole, he said.
