Discolorations on the face can have many causes and appear at different stages of our lives. They are usually the result of overproduction of the pigment responsible for the color of our skin (melanin), but they can also occur for other reasons, e.g. excessive exposure to the sun, acne or aging. Beauty salons offer many treatments to get rid of stains, but it is worth trying home methods, which may prove to be equally effective.
How to get rid of discolorations on the face? Make homemade tonic
Popular cosmetic companies offer many products that are dedicated to discoloration. Many of them are based on natural ingredients, which can be a good suggestion on what we can use at home to create our own preparation. It turns out that lemon juice is an effective bleaching agent. Thanks to it, you can safely and naturally get rid of unsightly spots on your face. Just squeeze the juice from half of the fruit into a bowl and soak cotton pads. Rub them gently over your face and leave the juice on your skin for 12-15 minutes. After this time, wash it off with warm water and apply a delicate moisturizing cream. It is best to do this treatment at night, as the sun in contact with lemon could worsen the problem. Use once a week on cleansed skin.
You can also make a homemade brightening tonic with apple cider vinegar. To do this, mix 50 ml of vinegar and 50 ml of water and wipe your face with cotton pads. Fruit acids contained in vinegar will help exfoliate dead skin and lighten discolorations. Use the water and vinegar solution 3 times a week, always at night, so that it has time to regenerate.

What lightens discolorations? Make a multifunctional mask
Thanks to this mask, you will not only reduce discoloration on the facial skin, but also provide it with deep hydration. If you use it regularly, you will get rid of two problems at the same time. To prepare it, you will need 2 tablespoons of yogurt and 2 tablespoons of honey (preferably from an organic apiary). Mix the ingredients together, apply to your face and leave for 25 minutes. After this time, wash off the mask with warm water and use your favorite one. Don’t forget to perform an allergy test on a small part of your skin before using each home product for the first time.
